ALL ABOUT ME
DEAR WASHINGTON SCHOOL FAMILIES,
It is my pleasure to welcome you and your child to First Grade. My name is Yvonne Cabrera-Rodriguez and I am excited to be your child’s TWI teacher this year. I have been teaching for 21 years. I am a graduate of DePaul University of Chicago with a Master Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been nominated to Golden Apple and I am a member of National Association for the Education of Young Children. I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. I am married, step-mother of three beautiful kids and I have a dog named Sammy. Some of my favorite things include reading, study, bike riding and dancing. I love my job because of the children in my school and the awesome community of Washington school. Every child is important and I constantly engage my students to problem solve and be critical thinkers. I teach the “whole” child, and they are excited to learn. The students in my school are the reason I come to work everyday and educating them is my vocation.
